The Wedding Tree & Dornan's

We are getting married at the Wedding Tree, a site in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, to the east of Grand Teton National Park. We're excited to be getting married on public land--a special national treasure that belongs to all of us. There is an old fir tree (or two) that give the site its name, but what makes it magical (and transforms it into an outdoor "church", if you will, to couples that marry there) is its view of the Tetons. Here is what it looked like when my friends Mark and Ryland got married there. (Mark set up the temporary huppah in the picture.)

Our reception will be immediately following the ceremony at Dornan's, a Jackson Hole institution! A private inholding in Grand Teton National Park, Dornan's is a smattering of restaurants and cabins owned and operated by 3rd-, 4th-, and 5th-generation family members. Dornan's may sound familiar because it is also home to the Hootennany, a weekly acoustic Traditional/Western open mic night. Going to the Hootenanny is a Mellion family tradition, which we have been extending to the Allens when they're in town.
